Coming off its most successful year in the company’s history.
TORONTO and NEW YORK, January 25, 2019; Tier1CRM (“Tier1”), the leading provider of client relationship management software for capital markets, has added entrepreneur and tech veteran Neil Ferris to its Board of Directors. The appointment follows a year of rapid expansion for Tier1 that saw revenues and headcount reach record levels.
Ferris has over 35 years of experience working with companies in the high technology industry. He was a founding member of Apollo Computer, and Co-Founder and CEO at Fluent, which he led until the Company was acquired by Novell. Ferris was CEO of Giganet, a storage networking company, which was acquired by Emulex Corp. Neil was most recently Chairman of BTI, which was acquired by Juniper Systems.
“We’re excited to welcome Neil Ferris to Tier1’s Board as we’re experiencing rapid growth both on the client side and internally,” said Mark Notten, CEO and Co-Founder of Tier1CRM. “His breadth of knowledge across the technology landscape combined with his experience spearheading and growing world-class companies blends perfectly with our commitment to delivering best-in-class software solutions for capital markets.”
Tier1 had the most successful year in its 10-year history in 2018, expanding its Toronto offices as well as opening new offices in New York City and the rising Canadian tech hotspot of Sudbury, Ontario. Geographic expansion and a 75%+ increase in headcount played key roles in Tier1 adding a record number of new clients on its platform in 2018. The Company continued to expand its product leadership with substantial investments in its product suite for sell-side and buy-side capital markets participants.
At the senior executive level, Tier1 invested heavily in building out solid leadership across all key functions, including the appointment of Mark Millar as Chief Financial Officer, Doug Christensen as Vice President of Strategy, and Theresa Elamparo as Chief Marketing Officer. These recent appointments bolster Tier1’s ability to expand its leading position in capital markets and diversify into new and adjacent markets.
Last year, Tier1 doubled its product development investment to build on its track record of innovation, which has included enhancements such as its updated Outlook plug-in, significant upgrades to coverage management and event calendaring tools, and the next generation of the Tier1 mobile app, supporting its mobile-first approach for a growing list of investment banking clients. In addition, as part of an initiative to expand its SI partner ecosystem, Tier1 launched the ACE Academy program to educate system integrators, partners and clients on how to install and configure the Tier1 platform.
The Company received several industry accolades including being named one of Deloitte’s 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America, with a three-year growth rate of 198%; and was named “Best Buy-Side CRM Platform” by Waters Technology at the 2018 Buy-Side Technology Awards.
